EMILY R. HARRIMAN

ATTORNEY, SAGE LEGAL GROUP

Emily R. Harriman focuses her law practice on estate planning, elder law, and family law. She is admitted to practice in both Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Emily is originally from a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her B.A. from Creighton University, and her Juris Doctor and certificate in Alternate Dispute Resolution from Marquette University.

As an estate planner, Emily assists her clients with creating a comprehensive estate plan, including revocable trusts, wills, marital property agreements, powers of attorney, HIPAA waivers, and special needs trusts.

Emily’s elder law practice focuses on assisting clients with long-term care asset protection planning and special needs trusts. In addition, she helps families navigate the adult guardianship process for special needs children turning 18 years old, and elderly or disabled adults in need of guardianship.

Emily spent her first several years after law school practicing exclusively in family law. She has now tailored her family law practice to collaborative divorce, mediation, and prenuptial agreements. Emily also serves families as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem. Understanding the sensitive nature of family law issues, she is able to offer her clients support and empathy through the process.

Emily was selected to the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Wisconsin Rising Stars list by SuperLawyers for her excellence in family law practice. She has also authored a number of articles for the Wisconsin Journal of Family Law discussing issues of legal separation, modifying support orders, and reporting domestic abuse as a Guardian ad Litem.

In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling internationally with her husband, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys exploring Milwaukee’s extensive selection of local restaurants and coffee shops.
